The Psychology and Technique of Effective Selling

Selling Dynamics

A Two-Day Workshop That Builds Real Selling Skill, Not Just Sales Scripts
“Customers do not buy because of what you say. They buy because of what they come to believe while you are saying it.”

Selling is often taught as a script: open with this line, handle that objection with this response, close with this technique.

Scripts feel reassuring to learn, but customers can usually tell when they are being run through one,

and the moment they sense it, trust drops and so does the likelihood of a sale. Genuine selling skill is not about having the right line memorized. It is about reading what the specific customer in front of you actually needs to hear, and responding to that in real time.
Selling Dynamics is IKTAR’s core sales skills program, built around the psychology of how Pakistani customers and business buyers actually make purchasing decisions, and the practical technique required to influence that decision honestly and effectively. The program covers the full arc of a sales conversation: building rapport quickly, uncovering real needs rather than assumed ones, presenting value in a way that matters to that specific buyer, handling objections without becoming defensive, and closing at the right moment rather than too early or too late.
This program works well as a standalone skills-building workshop for any sales team, and pairs naturally with Re-Engineering Sales Process for organizations that want both a sound process and a sales team skilled enough to execute it well.

Who This Program Is For

Selling Dynamics is designed for:

• Sales representatives and account managers who handle the sales conversation directly with customers
• Sales teams whose process is reasonably defined but whose individual conversion rates vary widely from person to person
• New sales hires who need a solid foundation in selling skill before being sent into the field independently
• Experienced salespeople who have grown comfortable but want to sharpen specific weak points, particularly objection handling and closing
• Retail, FMCG, and service sector teams where the quality of a single conversation directly determines whether a sale happens

If two salespeople with the same product, the same territory, and the same leads consistently produce very different results, the difference is almost always selling skill, and that is exactly what this program builds.

What Participants Learn

By the end of the program, participants will be able to:

• Build genuine rapport with a customer quickly, without resorting to scripted small talk
• Ask questions that uncover the customer’s real decision-making criteria, not just their stated requirements
• Present the value of a product or service in terms that matter specifically to that customer, not a generic pitch
• Recognize the difference between a genuine objection and a stalling tactic, and respond to each appropriately
• Read buying signals accurately and close at the right moment with confidence rather than hesitation
• Recover professionally from a lost sale and apply the lesson to the next conversation

Methodology

Program Structure and Methodology

Format: One to Two day in-person workshop
Group Size: Optimal cohort of 12 to 20 sales team members
Methodology: Live role-play sales conversations, recorded and reviewed, objection-handling drills, and individual coaching feedback from the facilitator
Delivery Options: Public workshop with scheduled dates, or in-house program built around your specific products and typical customer objections

Much of the workshop is spent in live role-play, with participants selling real or realistic versions of their actual product to a peer playing a skeptical customer. Sessions are reviewed and coached in the moment, so participants leave having practiced the exact objections they encounter in their real job, not generic ones.

Why IKTAR

IKTAR begins every Selling Dynamics engagement by collecting the actual, common objections your sales team hears from real customers, rather than teaching generic objection-handling examples that do not match your market. This makes the workshop immediately relevant rather than theoretical.
This program is led by Shafqat Jilani, a Certified Master Trainer (Futures Group, Washington DC) with over 25 years of experience training sales teams across Pakistan’s FMCG, pharmaceutical, retail, and B2B sectors, where customer psychology and buying behavior differ meaningfully from generic, internationally imported sales training content.
Following the workshop, IKTAR provides a free training review report identifying each participant’s strongest selling skill and their highest-priority area for continued development.
