Managing Your Time and Your Team’s Work With Equal Precision

Effective Time & Work Management

A Two-Day Workshop for Managers Responsible for Both Their Own Output and Their Team’s
“A manager who manages their own time perfectly but cannot manage their team’s work output has solved only half the problem.”

Time management becomes a different and more complex challenge the moment a professional becomes a manager.

Managing your own time is hard enough.

Managing your own time while simultaneously being responsible for the output of three, five, or ten other people who each have their own competing demands, their own working styles, and their own tendency to bring problems upward rather than solving them independently, is a qualitatively different challenge that personal time management tools alone do not address.
Effective Time and Work Management Training is IKTAR’s program for the managerial dimension of this challenge. It covers personal time discipline, the fundamentals of managing your own priorities, planning your week, and protecting time for high-value work, alongside the work management skills specific to leading a team: planning and distributing work effectively, tracking team output without micromanaging, handling the constant upward delegation of problems that drains a manager’s time, and building the team systems and habits that reduce the manager’s need to intervene in every task.
This program is specifically designed for managers and team leaders. It is the managerial counterpart to Time Management Training in IKTAR’s Personal Development suite, which addresses individual productivity. Where that program focuses on managing your own workload, this program extends those principles to the responsibility of managing a team’s collective output.

Who This Program Is For

Effective Time & Work Management is designed for:

• Managers and team leaders who carry responsibility for both their own deliverables and their team’s output, and struggle to balance both consistently
• New managers who made the transition from individual contributor to team leader and have not yet developed the work planning and coordination habits the new role requires
• Managers whose teams consistently miss deadlines or produce uneven output and want to address the planning and coordination gaps rather than simply applying more pressure
• Department heads who are spending disproportionate time on operational firefighting rather than strategic work because their team’s work management is not running independently
• Organizations that want to build a consistent work management standard across a management bench rather than leaving each manager to develop their own approach informally

If your managers are working long hours but their teams are still missing deadlines, this program addresses the planning, coordination, and delegation gap that creates exactly that situation.

What Participants Learn

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

•Plan their own week with enough discipline that strategic priorities get protected time rather than always being displaced by operational urgencies
• Plan and distribute team work in a way that is clear, realistic, and trackable without requiring constant managerial supervision
• Stop absorbing problems that team members should be solving themselves, and redirect that upward delegation back to the appropriate level
• Track team output effectively using simple, consistent systems that give early warning of slippage before deadlines are missed
• Build meeting disciplines that keep the team informed and accountable without consuming the majority of everyone’s working week
• Identify and address the team habits and organizational patterns that systematically waste time at the team level rather than the individual level

Methodology

Program Structure and Methodology

Format: Two day in-person workshop
Group Size: Optimal cohort of 12 to 20 managers
Methodology: Personal time audit, team work planning exercises, upward delegation role plays, and a practical team work management system built by each participant during the workshop
Delivery Options: Public workshop with scheduled dates, or in-house program for a management team
Training
The workshop is structured so that Day One focuses primarily on personal time management for managers, applying the fundamentals of prioritization and planning to the specific pressures of a management role. Day Two shifts to team work management, building the planning, tracking, and coordination systems that keep a team’s collective output on track. Participants build a practical personal and team work management plan during the second day that they can implement immediately on returning to work.

Why IKTAR

Time management training for managers that focuses only on personal productivity tools ignores the fact that the manager’s biggest time problem is often not their own scheduling but their team’s work habits. IKTAR’s program addresses both levels because both matter, and addresses them in a sequence that reflects how the problem actually presents itself in Pakistani organizations: personal discipline first, then team coordination.
Following the workshop, IKTAR provides a free training review report identifying each participant’s most significant personal and team-level time management gap and recommended first steps for addressing each.
