A Three-Level Pathway From First-Time Trainer to Leader Trainer

Train the Trainer (TOT)

Pakistan’s Most Experienced Train the Trainer Program, Led by a Certified Master Trainer
“Anyone can stand in front of a room. A trained trainer knows how to make every person in that room learn something they could not have learned without them.”

Pakistan’s training industry has grown significantly over the last two decades.

The demand for skilled corporate trainers, HR professionals who can design and deliver effective learning programs, and L&D managers who can build training capability inside their organizations has never been higher.

Yet the quality of training delivery across Pakistani organizations remains highly uneven, because most people who train others have never been formally trained to do so. They deliver content competently and manage people decently, but they do not yet understand adult learning principles, they do not know how to design a session that actually changes behavior, and they manage difficult training situations by instinct rather than by method.
IKTAR’s Train the Trainer Course Pakistan is the most established TOT pathway, led by Shafqat Jilani, a Certified Master Trainer (Futures Group, Washington DC) with over 25 years of experience training trainers, designing training curricula, and building L&D capability inside Pakistani organizations across all major sectors.
The program is structured as a deliberate three-level pathway rather than a single generic course. Each level builds on the previous one, takes the participant to a specific, named milestone, and has a clear next step. A participant who completes all three levels leaves with the knowledge, skills, and professional standing to build a serious career as a corporate trainer or to lead an organization’s internal L&D function at a level that produces measurable results.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS GAIN

Each level is available as a standalone program for participants at the appropriate experience level, or as part of the complete three-level pathway for participants building from scratch. Completing all three levels is strongly recommended for anyone seeking to build a professional training career or lead an organizational L&D function.

Level 1

Foundation Trainer

What This Level Covers:
•  Introduction to adult learning: why adults learn differently from students and what that means for how you design and deliver training
•  Training Needs Assessment (TNA): understanding the performance gap before designing the solution
•  Session design fundamentals: learning objectives, content sequencing, timing, and the difference between information transfer and skill development
•  Training delivery basics: voice, body language, pace, energy management, and presence in the room
•  Managing the training environment: room setup, materials, audio-visual equipment, and participant logistics
•  Managing nerves and building initial training confidence through structured fear-purging exercises and repeated low-stakes practice
•  Basic training evaluation: Kirkpatrick Level 1 and Level 2 measurement in a simple, practical form
•  Simulations, peer feedback, and a live delivery assessment at the end of the program

Level 2

Certified Master Trainer

What This Level Covers:
•  Advanced curriculum design: structuring multi-module programs, splitting content into learning units, and building training manuals
•  Designing and using training games, simulations, and activities that accelerate learning rather than simply entertain
•  Creating outstanding visual presentations: slide design principles, visual hierarchy, and how to use slides as a support rather than a crutch
•  Audience engagement methodology: participation techniques, energy management across long programs, and keeping cohorts engaged across multiple days
•  Rapport building and reading the room: recognizing when a group is losing energy, confidence, or trust, and intervening before it becomes a problem
•  Handling tough audiences: the skeptic, the dominator, the disengaged participant, and the expert who knows more than the trainer
•  Developing IMPACT: the six dimensions of memorable, effective training delivery
•  The art of being FAIR in training: Flexible, Attentive, Inclusive, and Responsive
•  Out of the box training techniques: unconventional methods for embedding learning that standard delivery misses
•  Customizing training for specific industries, cultures, and participant profiles

•  Training ROI and business case development: measuring and communicating the organizational value of training investment to leadership

LevelProgram NameDurationPrerequisiteOutcome
Level 1Foundation Trainer3 to 4 daysNo prior training experience requiredCompetent training delivery and basic session design
Level 2Certified Master Trainer4 to 5 daysLevel 1 or 1 year active training experienceIKTAR Certified Master Trainer designation
Level 3Leader Trainer3 to 4 daysLevel 2 plus 2 years active delivery post-certificationL&D leadership and professional training practice capability

Participants may enter the pathway at any level if they have the appropriate prerequisite experience. IKTAR will conduct a brief assessment conversation before confirming placement at Level 2 or Level 3 for participants who have not completed the prior level with IKTAR.
All three levels are available as in-house programs for organizations sending a cohort of internal trainers through the pathway together, or as public workshops for individuals. In-house delivery allows the curriculum to be partially adapted to the organization’s own training content and delivery context.

Why IKTAR

Train the Trainer programs are only as credible as the trainer who delivers them. The most important question to ask of any TOT program is whether the person teaching you to train is themselves a trained, credentialed, and actively practicing trainer. IKTAR’s TOT is led by Shafqat Jilani, who holds the Certified Master Trainer credential from Futures Group, Washington DC, one of the most respected international training certification bodies, and who has been actively designing and delivering corporate training programs across Pakistan and internationally for over 25 years.
This means participants are not learning training theory from someone who manages a training department. They are learning it from someone who still walks into training rooms, reads rooms, manages difficult participants, and designs curricula for real organizational clients every week. That lived, current experience is the difference between TOT training that produces trainers who can pass an assessment and TOT training that produces trainers who can actually perform in front of a room.
IKTAR’s TOT methodology is built around one principle: you cannot become a trainer by watching someone else train. Every level of the program is built around doing, practicing, receiving specific feedback, and practicing again. Simulations, peer assessment, and live delivery assessments are not optional components. They are the core of how learning happens in every level of this program.

Train the Trainer

TRAIN THE TRAINER THE IKTAR WAY

Why IKTAR’s TOT Produces Trainers Who Perform, Not Just Trainers Who Know

1. Practice-First Delivery

Every level of IKTAR’s TOT is built around doing, not watching. Participants deliver in the room, receive specific feedback, and deliver again. You cannot become a trainer by observing one. Every session ends with a live assessment, not a written test.

2. A Credential That Means Something

Level 2 graduates earn the IKTAR Certified Master Trainer designation, awarded by a Certified Master Trainer who holds the same credential from Futures Group, Washington DC. The standard is specific, externally referenced, and genuinely earned rather than simply attended.

3. A Clear Three-Level Pathway

Unlike single-event TOT programs, IKTAR’s pathway has a defined next step at every level. Foundation Trainer leads to Certified Master Trainer leads to Leader Trainer. Participants always know where they are, what they have achieved, and what comes next.
